One for One

COMMUNITY 

One of our goals at Flourish Body + Soul is to make sure that anyone can access the amazing benefits of yoga and community, regardless of income and financial means.  

When you take a class with us, a portion of your investment will go toward our scholarship fund so that someone else can also benefit from yoga! 

we offer a weekly donation-based class as well as a few scholarship-based programs.

we hope that you'll find this place to be a source of connection, healing, and flourishing for you!

In a society where comparison is more prevalent than compassion,

we invite you into this space to reconnect yourself and to one another. We extend this invitation to those who are weary or suffering. Whether it be physical pain, emotional struggles, trauma-related symptoms, grief and loss, or something else, we believe we could all use some peace + healing. 

We have a variety of community classes and events that are created for this very purpose: connection, healing and flourishing. Some of our classes are specifically trauma-sensitive. Feel free to contact Abby if you have questions. 

The following classes are scholarship funded or donation-based, so you give whatever you can. (When individuals take a "regular" yoga class with us, they are also playing a role in supporting the following classes).

If you can't give financially, that's ok! We have options for trade by helping out at the studio as well :) Each of the following are lead by Abby Mortenson; social worker, yoga teacher, and creative healer. You can read more about her training here.

Yoga for Healing:

Led by a social worker and certified yoga teacher who has experience leading therapeutic groups for adults and teens, trauma-sensitive yoga is a safe and subtle method for addressing symptoms of trauma including anxiety, depression, stress, and other troublesome symptoms. *This is not to replace therapy or medication, but rather, an additional healing resource for you in your journey to health and wholeness.*  *TSY

teen girls yoga + ART: 

This is for the girls! After school on Thursdays, we'll spend 75 minutes doing yoga, creative expression activities, and good conversation. We'll explore different topics each week - ranging from healthy relationships, to positive body image, self-care, and more! Donation-based so give what you can!  Ages 12-19. *TSY

Yoga for First Responders

This class is specifically created for first responders in our community. Law enforcement, fire fighters, EMT's, and anyone who experiences traumatic events on the regular. Stress can add up and the pressure of the job can affect your entire life. This class is part educational and part practical. We'll do yoga for stress relief and you'll come away with some more tools to help manage stress and overwhelm.  Men and women of all ages welcome. *TSY

community healing circles: 

If you or someone you know is in need of some healing of the heart, this might be perfect for you. Once a month, we'll gather with the intention of creating a safe space to explore our feelings and struggles in a judgement-free / healing environment. Led by a social worker and certified yoga teacher who has experience leading therapeutic groups for adults and teens. During these circles, we explore some breathing exercises, gentle movements and focused healing time. It's an experience hard to put into words; you'll have to try for yourself! Free or donation-based. *TSY

women's healing circles: 

Monthly Healing Circles just for women (see description above). Free or donation-based. *TSY 

 

*TSY means this class is considered trauma-sensitive yoga and is safe for survivors of trauma.
